Travel & Packing Guide

The closest international airport is Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi (DEL). From there you can take a domestic flight to Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun (DED), which is close to Rishikesh (approximately 22 kilometers away from the city center). Traveling from New Delhi (DEL) to Dehradun (DED) airport takes 40- 45 minutes. A taxi directly from the New Delhi airport to Rishikesh takes around 06 hours, however we recommend everyone to take a domestic flight.

For your arrival at Jolly Grant Airport, Dehradun (DED), a pick up can be arranged from the airport to our centre. For students who are arriving by train, bus or by any other means, a pick up can be arranged from Haridwar, Dehradun and nearby stations at an extra cost. Please let us know a week in advance if you wish to avail any of the transport facilities. Please note that these services can be provided only if required, you may always choose to reach us by making your own arrangements. Extra charges for the same will be applied for any further information on the same, kindly contact our management team , they will be happy to help you.

First, Students should apply for a tourist visa as it is easy and granted from the Indian embassy in a short period of time, the purpose of visiting India should be yoga retreat or Ayurveda retreats. Students may give our school address as well as a contact number for an Indian reference. Contact details for the Indian embassy in your country can be found. In general order, the visa expiry date is counted from the day visa is issued. Please verify it with the concerned embassy. Try to apply for your visa at least 2 to 3 weeks before your travel date. Documentation: Always carry COVID Vaccination certificate if you are fully vaccinated. To avoid any disappointments later, please follow the travel guidelines published by Uttarakhand State (Link below) while travelling to the state. https://www.euttaranchal.com/tourism/uttarakhand-travel-guidelines.php Yoga Mat: You may bring your own yoga mat for the Teacher Training Course or may use the one we provide during the course. Various kinds of yoga mats are available for purchase in town for about 500 INR ($10). Hiking/walking shoes: During your stay in our Teacher Training program you will be visiting various places of spiritual significance. To reach some of these places you will be expected to hike uphill or to go downhill to reach a meditation cave. Clothing: The key word for clothing… modest! Sleeveless yoga tops and tight yoga pants are appropriate ONLY inside the yoga hall but not suitable outside the hall or in town. Bring layers of clothing to wear to and from the yoga hall. You may also purchase inexpensive Indian clothing in the local market if needed. If you do not bring proper attire, you may be asked to buy more modest clothing at your own expense. We firmly believe in respecting the local culture and not inviting unnecessary attention to ourselves. Personal bathing towel & personal toiletries It is always good to carry your bathing towel and a small towel for yoga class. Journal It is always good to keep a personal journal to record your experiences of inner transformation. In your practice sessions, each day you may observe subtle or profound transformations (Physical, mental or emotional). It is of immense value when you look back months later and reflect. Take advantage of personal time, by spending it in solitude with your journal. Medicines: If you are currently using medications, bring a stock of medicines for one month. It is also advisable to carry some essential medicines for headaches/fever, diarrhea, motion sickness, and allergies. Water Bottle: Please carry a small water bottle with you. It will be convenient when you are in a yoga class or going out on excursions. Other Information: Orientation Orientation will begin at 6:00pm on the first day, so please make your travel plans accordingly and inform us of your arrival information when you book your tickets.

About The Course

One can prepare bystarting to read the books recommended by our teachers. Here is the list of books – Asana Pranayam Mudra Banda by Bihar school of Yoga, Light on Yoga by BKS Iyengar, Dharna Darshan by Bihar Yoga, School anatomy of Hatha Yoga by David Coulter. You may also start with some self practice by joining our online drop in classes.

The 200-Hour Yoga Teachers Training course is the basic to intermediate level. The course is done wisely it will help you to build a strong foundation for the future and a step forward to your journey. Yes, you may start teaching, however, the exceptional feature comes with dedicated practice and years of experience. Rishikesh Yogis Yogashala`s team of teachers have intricately designed the curriculum of the 200-hour TTC that covers yoga philosophy, meditation, yogic anatomy, pranayama, yoga adjustments alignment, teaching methodology. The students are offered to take a class to explore and experience the concepts of teaching yoga and transform into a classic yoga teacher. Sessions are conducted on different themes and on different variations, for different age groups, for people having physical limitations. We stay connected with our students even after the completion of the course incase of any guidance needed.

The Yoga Teacher Training course will give a direction about how to conduct a class. The level of teachings depends upon your dedication to teach. As an institution, we suggest all our students to start sharing their knowledge as soon they have absorb all the learnings of the Teacher Training Course. The yoga course will definitely bring out the best version of you and you may start with teaching the mint yoga aspirants around the world. Afterall, Yoga is never ending journey that makes us reach the different aspects of wisdom and knowledge through dedication and practice.

A: You can’t teach yoga after completing 100-hour Yoga Course. It will definitely give you an sense of what you should be learning and how you can continue to study and prepare yourself to become a successful Yoga Teacher

Yes. Fee Payment could be done with using credit card debit card MasterCard or any international card. Options for PayPal and international transfer Western Union transfer, Transfer wise. There is also an option to pay in installments for those who need. Please reach us to know more about it.

Rishikesh is spiritual city and considered to be one the safest city in India. Rishikesh attracts people from all over the world, the most of the locals welcome our guests whole-heartly and makes you feel like home. As it is spiritual place we recommended our students to adorn modesty in everything like clothes, behaviour etc) . The ashram is absolutely a safe place for stay. Of course one should always be diligent and alert about her/his belongings and surroundings. The ashram lifestyle will encourage you to see the understand the minimal required of life and at the same time acquire great knowledge with alike people around. Rishikesh is a beautiful place and holds immense power to heal.

The meals we serve are pure vegetarian and very healthy nutritious for a yoga practitioner. We do have vegan options for all our participants and also gluten-free options on request.

For the classes any comfortable fitness or yoga attire (yoga tights, pants, shorts etc) wil work. While exploring Rishikesh you can wear any decent clothing keeping in mind to not offend the spiritually of the place.

Yes. Airport transfer from Delhi and Dehradun is available. We also arrange transfers from railway/ bus stations nearby Rishikesh on request. Please note that the transfer are at extra cost and not part of the fee. We request to put your request well in advance to avoid any last minute hassles.
